Running From The Park Rangers.
Thursday, June 15, 2006 was a day to have my bike looked at, ride, relax, and pick up registration. So, I rode to the base area where some really nice mechanic's showed me how to adjust my disc brakes. I was getting a little nervous that my lever was going to hit my bars and I would be all out of brakes. There aren't any of those old school barrell adjusters. Thou it was a quick and some what easy process. They did not even charge me. All I had to do was sign their poster. From there I rolled up on an easy trail hoping to stay tucked in on some single track and out of sight of the Park Rangers. I ended up on the opposite side of the main trails, but started to figure out that I was still within the stupid mountain bike park. There really wasn't anyway around it! I rolled around there for 45 minutes and then came across the Marathon course again. I figured I was safe to ride down the trails, since I would be faster, other Marathoners were doing it yesterday, and I'll just play dumb again. Oops! There they are! I put it in the big ring, sttod up, and started to pedal. Thank god I left my pass on my bike from yesterday and of course they were trying to see the date, but I kept on rolling. I finally made it back to the base area, cleaned my bike, and headed up the hill back home. I decided to keep on riding right pass our place for a longer ride. It was gorgous up there. The houses were cute, lots of land, and everything was so green. Now, I'm sitting around bored, waiting for registration to open, and then I'll be back sitting here bored until bedtime. No, wait! I have more thing...Andy will be calling me soon. Yippy!
